'Shady' Cliburn sounds like a character

One of my favorite parts of researching this story is browsing old newspaper articles, and during the times relevant to this story, Hobart and Kiowa County enjoyed multiple daily papers. Some of it is sad. Some of it is boring, and some of it is amusing . . . like this one:

From what I can tell, "Shady" Cliburn was the postman in Hobart for many years. Despite both being Oklahoma Cliburns, sadly, I can't say I am related to Shady in any close fashion. I traced our lineages back to Virginia in the 1700s. It's too bad because I bet his descendants would have some good stories to tell.
